Assesments

My upcoming assessment is bruising and cuts, this assessment involves us the students creating a looking with a cut and some bruising around the affect area. To study for this assessment when have to get research material in which we can use for ideas for our assessment it also helps if we do some practise runs on the bruising and cuts before our assessment so we have an idea on what we are doing and are expected to do.It also help so we can improve on our skill so when it comes to the assessment we feel confident in doing it.

Media Make-Up

My time at James Watt so far has been very pleasurable and exciting as within my college course I have successfully learned and gained new skills, I have also met a bunch of new people gaining more friends which makes the class all that better as it's a fun environment to be in which makes it easier to learn. Having different classes within the course makes it more interesting as you aren't just learning one skill your learning numerous skills which you can use later on in life. You aren't just learning skills your interaction with people and communication is growing.Which also helps later on in life when interacting with the public.

CFE in classes

CFE

SPX-
In my special effect class the CfE is linked in many ways, I use the first capacity in this class as I strive to learn with enthusiasm making sure I take in all the information possible so I can reach a high standard of work. It also allows me to be able to open my mind to let in new ideas and be creative. This also allows me to learn independently within my group. This first capacity is linked to my class as I have to go in with an open mind each day be willing to learn new things so when you do go out in the industry to do this skill you can create new ideas and give the client an overall high standard of finish. The second and third capacities applies greatly as within a class you have to respect others as well as yourself this applies in any place in the class room or outside it- the respect you have for yourself and others conveys in many different ways also as that respect covers how you would treats others and their belongings also be able to respect other people values in an adult manner even if you agree or not. These capacities show through in this class as you have to respect every individuals belongings such as there kits. You also have to be respectful to others within the class so it creates a happy environment which makes it easier to work in. The fourth capacity also applies within our class as within our class you have to work individually or in a team and when working in a team you have to be open to taking in other peoples ideas develop ideas and take initiative.

Character Make-Up

I use all 4 of these capacities in my character make-up class as within this class you have to strive to do a good job on your client this encourages enthusiasm within the class to do your best and create a high standard of outcome. The second and third capacities apply to this class as you have to respect yourself- meaning coming in, in a presentable manner obeying the dress code and having your own values. Respecting yourself leads to you respecting others, we do this in our class by gowning our models having consultations with them finding out if there is any products we cant use on them. It also mean we respect there belongings as well so if you use any of their belongings make sure you use it they way you would use your own put it back the same way you took it.The fourth capacity applies as in this class you develops your own ideas on the model and apply them further, and also communicate with the model.

Wig Making

Within the wig making class you have to have patience and respect for the wigs. The wigs class is a very time consuming as you have to make sure your doing each sections correct like making sure the manikin is the correct size for the wig if not pad it, making sure you stomp down the wig the set it correctly. Doing each stage is very time consuming and take allot of patience you also have to show respect for the wigs and manikins as they are very expensive. Also when using models you have to respect them as it can be quite tricky at times and maybe a little bit sore for the client at times.

Hairdressing

The hairdressing class is the same as any other class the same capacities applies, as with you hairdressing class you have to again respect the model gown them have a consultation making sure you can use certain products on the client, also when washing the hair of the model you have to make sure they are in a comfortable manner and not hurting them in any way as it cant be quite uncomfortable at times, the same applies when setting and styling the model.

Halloween Looks

Halloween Looks.

1. The classic witch Halloween costume.

Anyone can be a witch this is the wonders of this costume, all you need is black clothing some funky tight orange and black stripe, green or even red! A nice broom stick and a long black cape and hat. Be creative! But every witch needs there mask- I would create this look by using an all over green face ( go all out cover your body )  this give you the base coat i would then add some darker green to define the eyes and the cheek bones some red/black for the lips then even a bit of black for a lovely mole, and you cant forgot the big nose!

2. My favorite costume.

    Avatar

This look is very hard look to create but if done well is outstanding! This is how i would recreate this look, firstly i would apply a high def cyan pain stick all over the skin even the lips ( uses a darker blue on top lip), i would then contour the cheek bones, under the nose and eye with a darker blue i would then create contrasting veins across the face with eye shadow i would then use a white shimmer on the face to add freckles ( even use some sequins to add that glamour look ) , then fill the lids with a pale yellow. To create the outfit i would use allot of feathers and beads even get a blue bikini and cover it, again be creative use your imagination. Use some beads round your neck and arm, best idea is to follow a picture.

3.  This years favourite costume! A Tiger

This years most popular costume seemed to be the tiger! An easy but great outfit. I would use your imagination boys and girls can go as this! as long as you have the marking you can go any colour its great! Some fake fur ears and a tail it's simple ! You cant go wrong, young and old can use this outfit.

Style Icons

Kat Von D is a style icon to me, she may not attend fashion shows or wear this season designers but shes iconic in her own way. Unlike most "style icons" who are stylish and show their personality through their clothing Kat Von D does it through her skin. Kat expresses herself through tattoo's and is well known for this, although her look i more permanent, her style is defiantly unique and unlike any other. She's different from most celeb's shes not this fame driven celeb. She's a glamorous embodiment of class.

Movie Make-Up

Make-up effects on movies
Make-up can be used in many different ways not just for enhancing someones beauty

1. X-Men

Another fabulous make-up effect would be Mystique from x-men-

To re-create her look I would use a flesh liquid latex on the skin to get all the effects on mystique's face once dry and fine with all the markings I have made I would then cover my face with a blue cream make-up I would then use a charcoal eye shadow for my uses referring back to the picture, I would also use the charcoal eye shadow on the latex to make it stand out and make it look more lifelike.

2.The Dark Knight

Although this isn't the most jaw dropping of effects i still love the the way the make-up has been
applied and the overall effect the make-up gives him!

How i would re-create the Joker look would be, firstly the base i would add a layer of clown white face paint to cover the base of the face then i would start to build up the white until the white looked liked almost natural like skin, Secondly i would then use black supra colour around the eyes, and use make a tear stick to create tears and smudge the eye make up to make it look more distressed and lifelike.  i would then use a red lipstick for the lips the jokers lips are extended so use the lipstick to extend you lips out but also smudge it a little to create a better effect.

3. Alice in wonder land

I think The Mad Hatter is wonderful make-up effect

To recreate the mad hatter look I would firstly use a clown white face paint for the base apply all over face to make it look natural and skin like, I would then use a light pink under the cheek bones to emphasis the cheek bones and at the side of the nose to make the nose look smaller, I would then use the same pink under the eyes and on the eyelids but use it a bit more heavily, then I would apply some blue greasepaint on the top lids , and then white fake top and bottom eyelashes keep referring to the picture to get it look realistic.

1920's make-up look.

One era that interest me the most in make up would be the  flirtatious 20's!

During the 1920's most women wore cream or ivory face powder to give the women a very flawless subtle look.Later on in the middle of the twenties a powder corresponding to the nature of the skin came into fashion. However they were very bold when it came to there lips, they usually used deep reds, plums or orange's.As trends changed so did the colours but they still remained bold colours. The women applied there lipstick as a "Cupid's Bow" to the upper lip, an the exaggerated there bottom lip, they de-emphasized it a little. Lips were the key look to any womens make-up

The women usually wore dark smoky eyes. To get this effect the women lined there eyes with black eyeliner, the eyelid was usually covered with a dark grey to give a smoky look, the women also used other colour like turquoise and greens and it was applied very heavily. The women also painted there eyelashes black to emphasis them then added on the fake eyelashes. This style was very dark and dramatic.

The 1920's was a big change for women they finally got the right to vote and finally got a chance to let there hair down and let there beauty fly free. Women began to date without chaperones, dance and drink hard liquor at parties and best of all express there beauty through make up! Women reinvented them selves! For once they had confidence and was allowed to showit, so why not girls! This is why this style of makeup interests me the most not just because its a beautiful look but there is a story behind it !
